Exellent & Compact resource

I read this book to assist my understanding of basic corporate structures. There is no fluff in this book. Every paragraph is packed with important details and caveats that apply to everyday corporations & non-profits governance structure. An index is included in the back of the book which makes the book an excellent resource on Corporate structures and governance concepts. Though this book is fairly short at 250 pages, it is not a short or casual read. With that said, I found the information contained well worth the price and time required to read it.

The writing style flows easily and as I read it

I have always been interested in the concept of knowing and understanding your Why and first became aware of it about a few years ago. What stands out about this book is the way in which the content tells you simply how you can discover your WHY. The writing style flows easily and as I read it, it feels like a conversation. It was an easy read where you also got to feel like the author was someone who understood you. The examples and references used are ones I can relate to. Reading this book also made me make immediate changes in the way I thought about where I was, where I want to go and what I needed to do to get there. This is a book for ACTION takers!

A short manual for all those looking for more in life

If you are still looking for your WHY - your mission, if you believe that there is more than going to work and paying bills and that an exciting and purposeful life is possible, this is the right manual for you! Cheryl tells her life story, shows on her example that a radical change is really possible and provides practical advice, tools and online support which can help you to achieve it. A very pleasant and well structured read (you can easily read it in one go).
PS If you ever have the chance to see her life don't hesitate to do it!!! She is an excellent speaker, with a great sense of humour and a lovely accent from Yorkshire :)

No nonsense, in-your-face guide to ritual magick...

Excellent book that stays true to its title. This is a serious, no nonsense workbook on qabalistic ritual magick in the western tradition, not exactly for beginners but you don't have to be an advanced practitioner either to start working on it, but it would help if you have some prior knowledge. If you are a definite beginner, I would strongly recommend that you purchase and read Donald Kraig's "Modern Magick" first, so you can become familiar with the exercises, banishing/invoking rituals and hebrew and enochian pronuniciations first, and alot of other helpful material, then buy this book. Don't let any negative reviews fool you, THIS IS A VERY GOOD BOOK. This book is also alot less wishy-washy than most of those out there dealing with the study and practice of ritual magick, and focuses mainly on preparations and training for proper ritual invocation and evocation, and should take you about a year to learn and memorize the lessons here, exactly the amount of time recommended before attempting and sort of evocations based of the Keys of Solomon and such. Also includes alot of advanced astral exercises, manipulations, and pathworking. Definetly recommended.

An Very Concise Primer for the Starting Occultist

There are quite a few magickal workbooks for the occultist starting out. And what sets this one apart from the rest are clearly defined rituals, A plus B then C. These rituals are straight forward without being oversimplified to the point that artistry is lost. These are the practices that have filtered down from the Hermetic order of the Golden Dawn and these exercises are Qabbalistically based. Being a individual born and raised in Western Society I understood and melded with this concept of Scientific Illuminism, since our society is one that is based on logical positivism. It should seem paradoxical that scientific methodology is being applied to spiritual development but that's exactly what a person is doing by utilizing in these established rituals. But there is enough wriggle room for very unique individualize results. And with that stated a person, it is in the individual's best interest to try to let go any preconceived about magick before undertaking these exercises that will better ensure you are truly tapping into the spirit world.

I've only had a chance to read a few passages of this book, but I very much like what I've seen. Another reviewer said it isn't really a beginners book. Perhaps, but it is a novice's book. By this I mean if someone has been attracted to Ceremonial Magic they will have already touched on, at least tangentially, much of the material in this book.

The introduction offers glimpses of the possibilities. Enough that if you yearn for the promise of the magical quest you will see bits of sunlight rising in the East. Then the first chapter tosses you right into the deep end. You will either thrash your way toward the edge of the pool to climb sputtering back to dry land or find enough calm and resolve to keep you head above the water and begin to swim.

What follows is a systematic, step-by-step training regimen that, if followed, will take you from dabbler to practitioner. It can also serve as a teaching guide for more advanced individuals who who are ready to take the responsibility for sharing their knowledge.

The author draws on the classic works from the likes of Agrippa, Levi, Mather's and Waite through the post Golden Dawn masters such as Crowley and Regardie. He touches on meditation, Qabalah, astral travel, tarot and yoga. His original material demonstrates how it all can be applied and extended on an individual basis.

After a bit of tease from my friend's copy I'm buying it for myself.

Highly recommended if you're building php web apps

I normally purchase books based on reviews, but despite only have one (average) review, the preview of this book intrigued me. It appeared to be exactly what I was looking for.

I'm glad I bought it. It was exactly what I was looking for - if you're building php web applications then I recommend this. It covered the main points and gives great pointers where to go to increase your knowledge further on specific areas.

A rip off

He just skims over topics, tossing lines of code here and there. a waste of 38 dollars for sure. He doesn't really provide much useful knowledge about scaling mysql, which is the only reason i bought the book, but its a good primer i guess. It does provide a good view of haproxy and some insight into tuning ubuntu, but all in all i was dissapointed with the book.

essential resource

Excellent overview of the CA code. You should be aware that this does not cover the plumbing code. Also, the CA code has been through many changes recently, and the code check books can't hope to keep up completely. The complete code is available online from IAPMO, and is clear and readable. You need to download it to view it, but you can do so one chapter at a time.

About the Author
Dave Ellis is a leadership coach, author, educator, and philanthropist. He is a respected lecturer and electrifying workshop leader who has captivated audiences worldwide since first sharing his principles in 1979. Ellis got started in education in 1976, when he taught junior high school math. After getting a master's degree in mathematics, he taught computer science for six years at National American University, where he became Assistant Dean of Student Services. In 1979, he designed a course to improve student retention and then traveled the country for a decade conducting workshops for teachers on ways to improve student retention and test scores. He began training coaches in 1983 and started a public course for coaches in 1993. He puts into practice the principles he teaches, utilizing his remarkable system in his own life. His friends and colleagues often describe him as the happiest person they know with an amazingly wonderful life. He is president of Breakthrough Enterprises, a publishing and consulting company, as well as founder and president of The Brande Foundation, a nonprofit organization offering assistance to organizations working toward world sufficiency, environmental integrity, human rights, and personal transformation.
