Highly Recommended Glenco Health book

I think highly of this Glenco Health book. It is covers a multitude of health issues in an easy to read and easy to understand format. I require student to write the question within the answer to help get them internalize the concepts presented as opposed to simply writing an answer that isn't linked to anything in their mind, so there is a lot of work for students; the assignments are short so students progress goes quickly and they don't seem to mind too much. In each chapter there are about 5 pages to read followed by 7 questions; after 3-5 chapters there is a unit assessment of 35 questions. Students comment that there is a lot of work, but it was easy and informative.

Good value, Unless you need this for a class not a great choice for teaching health

I bought this since my child's school does online books only and the server seems to go down frequently so for the low prices here I decided it was worth it to purchase an actual book. The book itself and quick shipping were great. This health book is perfect for our Utah school. It contains virtually no sex education. It has a short chapter on very basic, what I remember learning in elementary school ideas about reproduction. The rest of the book deals with basic social issues, mental health concepts and how to make healthy choices. I would not choose this book if I had a choice for health textbooks but it obviously is a popular book with school districts a conservative base of families.

The book all but ignores sexual health issues and has no medical-grade evaluation of contraceptive options needed to evaluate strengths as well as risks. Disappointed, but it will get the kids through 90%...
