In his Uropathy: The Most Powerful Holistic Therapy, pee's the ultimate cure-all. Gagging aside, it's not so unconventional: former Indian prime minister Morarji Desai guzzled ounces each morning, observing an ancient Hindu practice. Lara learned about it 11 years ago, when the self-taught therapist he's never studied traditional medicine became disenchanted with science's inability to cure his ailments. Since then he's lectured to thousands. Not any pee will do it must be your own, which Lara says is a nontoxic biofeedback stimulator that boosts immunity by activating the lymphatic system, thus restoring the body to an internally balanced state of health. Dosages range from a few drops of Lara's "Ultimate Universal Remedy" an elixir of water, urine, and white rum to several ounces for serious conditions like cancer, dysentery, or Alzheimer's. Of course, not everyone is ready for this leap of faith. On his Web site Lara argues against obsessing over taste and smell: "Urine is a sample of what is flowing through your veins and repulsive urine should be a motivation to improve the internal conditions, rather than an excuse for not using Uropathy." -- The Village Voice

About the Author
Martin Lara was born in the Dominican Republic in 1953 and immigrated to the United States in 1973. Since early childhood he was plagued with numerous diseases until the age of 35 when he decided to take control of his own health. Since then he has been able to eliminate or control all his health problems by using natural, cheap and readily available products. He started writing his book in 1989 to share with everyone what he had discovered at the time. Everyone loved the simplicity and cleverness with which he approached diseases and they started a network of alternative medicine researchers that communicated back and forth to help each other deal with the health problems of all. He lectured every month since 89 at the Community Center on West 13th Street in Manhattan in a support group for people concerned with or afflicted by AIDS where hundreds of people learned to live normal and healthy lives naturally being HIV+. Since then Martin Lara has participate! ! d in an international conference in Germany and has traveled extensively to other countries in the world to share with everyone all he has discovered since he started researching. His book is fun to read and a serendipitous discovery for all healthy people who whish to remain healthy and for sick people who want to improve their conditions.

Best Kept Secrets of Urine Therapy Revealed !

The best Urine Therapy book ever written , this is the most heretic medical book available in the world. This book works very well with " Cure for All Diseases " by Hulda Regehr Clark, if you unify the teachings of both books what you will have in your hands is a powerful healing weapon. Lara's Universal Remedy or Urine Injections can replace the Clark's Zapper, and are more effective to kill, control and assimilate malign invader microorganisms.

This is the best book out there on urine therapy!

I have purchased every book amazon has on urine therapy and this is, by far, the most informative book with descriptions of therapies, your lymphatic system and how it acts as a cleansing system, how to fight cancer, skin disorders, along with many many other disorders of the body and in general, how to use urine to it's best advantage for your body. It lists individual therapies for numerous health issues. This book has the most specific descriptions on how to use urine.

If you can only purchase one, make it this one. Well worth the money.

I have read many books on uropathy and I think it is vital for people to be aware of this gift from Nature. In our troubled times, knowing that this golden elixir can be the solution to so many causes of disease is a blessing and a powerful tool. All it takes to fully embrace it is that we are able to open our minds enough to get rid of the nonsense that has filled our heads regarding this amazing and taylor made product.
Martin's use of English is sometimes a little strange but we soon get used to it and he obviously speaks from the heart and has a wealth of experience.

Die Liebe zu Laura dient dabei lediglich als Deckmantel der – damals als s�ndhaft geltenden – Ruhmsucht, sowie als Point de D�part f�r ein in Wahrheit streng durchkomponiertes �sthetisches Werk, mit dem sich Petrarca deutlich von den im Mittelalter vorherrschenden Liebesdiskursen zu distanzieren vermag. Im Folgenden werde ich eruieren, wie die Figur der Laura und die scheinbar unerf�llte Liebe zu ihr als Instrument der Selbstinszenierung geschickt eingesetzt werden, ohne welches Petrarca das Streben nach Gloria nicht in diesem Ma�e h�tte entfalten k�nnen.

Dazu werde ich zun�chst auf die Entstehung der Laura eingehen, die bereits im Secretum als auch im Bucolicum Carmen erw�hnt wird, und sowohl ihr Erscheinen als auch ihre Funktion im Canzoniere detailliert analysieren. Im Anschluss daran werde ich anhand von Beispieltexten Petrarcas Egozentrismus durch die affetti contrari demonstrieren, sowie die Rahmenkonzeption des Canzoniere genauer beleuchten, bei der wir eine deutliche Akzentuierung der Gloria im In Morte Teil vorfinden werden. Abschlie�end werde ich Petrarca kurz im Kontext anderer literarischer Liebeskonzeptionen seiner Zeit, respektive der provenzalischen Troubadourslyrik, der Scuola Siciliana und des Dolce Stil Novo, situieren und zeigen, dass Petrarcas Narzissmus und seine Selbststilisierung im Canzoniere ihn als Wegbereiter einer neuen Epoche, des Rinascimento, auszeichnen.

Not recommended for Photoshop beginners

I purchased this book several months ago, having no experience in Photoshop. From the first I found the book overwhelming and confusing. Maybe it's my style of learning, as I was expecting a more linear style. Something like, "Okay, here's what you need to know to get started" and "Now that you know this, here's how you do that."

But this book, to me, is needlessly complicated. While it's excellent for detailed descriptions, I wouldn't recommend it for beginners. I found myself reading and re-reading descriptions and information, breaking out the highligher pen, trying to glean the basics from pages and pages of details that were, for a beginner like me, irrelevant. I say irrelevant because I was given information on things I hadn't learned yet.

I wound up purchasing other resources to learn Photoshop. Now that I have a basic understanding of the software, this book is a little more useful, though still too complicated for my taste.

LOVE these old instructional titles

I have had PS (2.5) since March 1994 when I got my first Apple and Epson scanner. I have upgraded PS every year and now have the latest and greatest CS5. I am always overwhelmed with PS features so I don't even come close to unleashing the full power of the program. I ran across a copy of this book at a bookstore recently and was astonished at how much information was so very useful for me. I am just a casual at home user but I aim for the best results with my Nikon photography. This book explains things simply when many of the powerful and complex features were just emerging. It is easier to follow the instructions and exemplars and to apply the features from a more basic time. While some of the steps have been streamlined the basic process remains the same and when I extrapolate this "old" info onto the newest app features suddenly the dawn comes. Miracles happen and I "get it"! And of course I ordered this from Amazon and it arrived in pristine condition from the seller. I am grateful to have access to this valuable and useful guidance. Perhaps one day in a galaxy far far away I will be able to approach Photoshop with supreme confidence and competence.

Lots of fun

This is a virtual candy store for a Photoshop enthusiast, and one of my two favorite Photoshop books. The effects are fun and occassionally challenging. If you work through a decent portion of this book you will learn the program. Since most of the examples will work just fine in Photoshop 7, I probably will skip the next edition unless it has a lot of new material. If you know the basics of Photoshop and want to go to the next level this is a good place to start.

Barney Panofsky smokes too many cigars, drinks too much whiskey, and is obsessed with two things: the Montreal Canadiens hockey team and his ex-wife Miriam. An acquaintance from his youthful years in Paris, Terry McIver, is about to publish his autobiography. In its pages he accuses Barney of an assortment of sins, including murder. It's time, Barney decides, to present the world with his own version of events. Barney's Version is his memoir, a rambling, digressive rant, full of revisions and factual errors (corrected in footnotes written by his son) and enough insults for everyone, particularly vegetarians and Quebec separatists.

But Barney does get around to telling his life story, a desperately funny but sad series of bungled relationships. His first wife, an artist and poet, commits suicide and becomes--� la Sylvia Plath--a feminist icon, and Barney is widely reviled for goading her toward death, if not actually murdering her. He marries the second Mrs. Panofsky, whom he calls a "Jewish-Canadian Princess," as an antidote to the first; it turns out to be a horrible mistake. The third, "Miriam, my heart's desire," is quite possibly his soul mate, but Barney botches this one, too. It's painful to watch him ruin everything, and even more painful to bear witness to his deteriorating memory. The mystery at the heart of Barney's story--did he or did he not kill his friend Boogie?--provides enough forward momentum to propel the reader through endless digressions, all three wives, and every one of Barney's nearly heartbreaking episodes of forgetfulness. You have to like a narrator who can ask about libel after being accused "in print, of being a wife-abuser, an intellectual fraud, a purveyor of pap, a drunk with a penchant for violence, and probably a murderer as well" only to have his lawyer answer "Sounds like [the writer] got things just about right." Richler is in top form with this first-person voice of Barney Panovsky, 67-year-old TV producer at Totally Useless Productions, thrice-married (the third being the one that matters, and she's gone; the second, after being found in bed with Barney's best friend, Boogie, is the catalyst for the putative murder), fretting over liver spots and mental slippage. The book is always hilarious, but the humor is sharpened by the psychological accuracy/honesty and the richness of detail; in short, this is one well-written book. There are even footnotes to help out when Barney gets something wrong. Absolutely for all collections, this is what Barney calls his third wife: "a keeper."?Robert E. Brown, Onondaga Cty. something Joseph Heller fans will love...

Barney's Version is really an incredible novel. While it reads like the memoirs of a cranky, elderly Jewish Canadian who seems to hate most everything (except his last wife and their three kids), it also serves as an interesting analysis of life in Montreal over the last fifty years for the English-speaking minority, especially the enclave of its (once harassed) Jewish residents.
While the characterizations of Barney and his friends/family are top notch it is Richler's flair for biting satire and sarcastic wit which leaves the most lasting impression of Barney's Version. Joseph (Catch-22) Heller wrote novels with similar style and humour. Yet Richler's Barney has a more worldly, fran�ais feel about him compared to Heller's Brooklyn-based characters.
Bottom line: Richler presents a character that is larger than life; it's hard to believe Barney doesn't really exist. Strongly recommended.

Few books haunt my memory, but this one shall, it's great!

I have been reviewing books for 25 years and I must admit that I can count on both hands the number of books I would recommend as "must reads."
But "Barney's Version", by Mordecai Richler, is definitely one of them.As a reader the same age as Barney, I laughed and cried over this wonderful character, and will love him till the day I die.
Barney is a 68 year old Jewish gentleman who has been married three times, widowed once, divorced twice, though still in love with "Miriam, my heart's desire." He had a gay (in the old meaning) youth gallivanting around Europe, then settled in America where he somehow gets charged with and tried for murder. I am a mystery buff, these chapters alone rate those five stars.
This novel is Barney's version of the dastardly deeds he has commited throughout his lifetime, and he will keep you laughing and crying and loving through the pages and through the years.
A bonus in the book is the contribution of Barney's son, Michael, who finds it necessary to footnote the book, correcting Barney here and there, as Barney's memory isn't as good as it used to be. He can never remember such important issues as the last two of the seven dwarfs, the name of that thing you drain spaghetti in, which of the big bands played "In the Mood" and who was that gorgeous brunette in Lil Abner? (You don't remember? Read the book!)
Just recalling the book tempts me to re-read it. I strongly advise you to buy a copy; don't borrow one, for you will never be able to bring yourself to part with it. Enjoy!

A rich, engaging read.

This book is an intelligent, tremendously entertaining read. Mr. Richler assumes the reader is well-read, and this is challenging for some (me). Barney deserves everything he gets in life, except perhaps the final cruelty imposed upon him, as it unfolds in relation to Boogie. Still, I finished this last night, and now find myself missing Barney's perverse dissertations. Damn, Damn, Damn . . . I'm off today to buy "St. Urbain's Horseman"!

As interesting as a textbook can conceivably be given the dry subject matter

Had some interesting correlations and anecdotes to make the many mundane facts and details more memorable than they would have otherwise been. The many diagrams and illustrations also served this purpose, and were very detailed and accurate.
