Cannot believe I paid $10 for this!

Writing down things that you hear and call it a book? Maybe I can do the same. I hear people talking. In the trees there are birds chirping. A car just drove passed my house. There is no substance to this book. Unfortunately his deconstruction leaves much to be desired and is elementary at best. Glad I didn't start with his more expensive books.

Cute book and fairly easy to start felting...

I saw this book at Chronicle books and asked for it, and supplies, for my birthday in November. I've now done two of the characters (who became true characters as they are a bit lopsided/funky) and I'd say it is pretty easy to pick up. However, I am giving the book 4 stars because I would have liked to have a helpful section explaining more about using different sized needles, tips on what to do if certain things go awry, etc. While practice makes perfect and you learn along the way, would have appreciated a little guidance along the way.

everyone of a philosophical frame of mind should read this book...

I was surprised by what I read. I grapple with and have a hard time accepting Mr. Virilio's (very well thought out) propositions. I know the book is dead-on correct. But my angst is that I don't want to admit in the truth he laid out.

So in fact, the real review is this: this book scares me, deeply. If what Mr Virillio assumes to be true... I don't know... what is that future. Are we doomed? Already lost and trapped in the current of accelerated reality? (Is my angst in fact a rear view mirror of what was...) Ugh...

That being said. The book is really very good, dense, and just like a bullet... perfect in aim.

Apologies if this review is not helpful to you and perhaps overloaded on the reaction side versus thought side. I very much urge everyone of a philosophical frame of mind to read this book.

I can't unread what I read. I can't go back. Thanks Mr. Virilio.

What I don't want to believe is that this book has received so little attention. It is packed with important insights into collective behaviour today. It reflects the information revolutoin of the 20th and the emotion revolution of the 21st century and it answers so, so many questions I had in my head with a basic grid.

If you never read Virilio, you can start by this one and he will definitely become one of your favorite philosophers. Not Unexpected From Albee

These plays are drenched in the condemnation that we've come to expect from Edward Albee. "The Sandbox" condemns his parents (his mother was more recently condemned in "Three Tall Women"), "The Death of Bessie Smith" condemns the white establishment of the South in the pre-Civil Rights Movement days, and "Fam and Yam" condemns the old order in literature. Albee's world is soaked in doom and filled twice over in hatred for the established order. The only fault is the same one that's been brought against Bob Dylan and Sam Peckinpah -- if the establishment had to go, what's going to replace it?

Another excellent book from a series of excellent books by the Pythagorean Illuminati. If you have any interest at all in finding the answers to life's greatest mysteries you need to read all of the books by the true Illuminati. You should also check out their website armageddonconspiracy.co.uk and their facebook page Ancient Order of The Illuminati. The Illuminati have created a grand unified theory of everything based on mathematics, philosophy, science, psychology, politics, and religion. All of their books are very well written making some complicated subjects easier to understand. The Illuminati's books could very well change your life if you give them a chance.

Through direct quotes from the man himself this book explores the pathology of Martin Luther, the founder of Protestantism. If you didn't already know, the Illuminati will gladly prove to you that all prophets from the religions of Abraham (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) were deranged. If, after reading this book you still think Martin Luther was a good guy and Protestantism is a benevolent religion then you are as ill as Luther was.

This quote from Martin Luther is in the book description too but I think it bears repeating: "Reason is the devil's greatest whore; by nature and in manner of being she is a noxious whore; she is a prostitute, the devil's appointed whore; whore eaten by scab and leprosy who ought to be trodden underfoot and destroyed, she and her wisdom...Throw dung in her face to make her ugly. It's crazy that so many people hear something like that and thinks to themselves: "I'm going to follow this guy, he seems like he knows whats up!" The book is filled with many more of Martin's little gems of wisdom.

That quote pretty much sums up Protestantism. It depresses me profoundly to realize that this lunatic has hundreds of millions of followers and Protestantism is just one little part of Abrahamism. When you combine all the religions of Abrahamism you end up with billions of people who happily follow one sick prophet or another. Seeing this I realize the astronomic obstacle people of reason and compassion have to overcome if we want a more just world. Sometimes I wonder if it is even possible.

This book is incredible. It exposes all the evil in the world focusing on a perfect example: Protestantism. It not only point's out the follies of such beliefs but also explains the antidote as clear as day. This isn't just a book exposing the evils of the world, it's also an inspirational masterpiece that explains how we can OVERCOME the evil of the world. If you are not familiar with The Real and True Illuminati, let me add: do not believe the conspiracy hype! As much as it feeds on your fears and has caused fear perhaps of even the word Illuminati, it is just that, FEAR. It is carefully designed propaganda, put in to the mainstream by the real puppet masters. Instead of believing the hype, google 'Armageddon Conspiracy' and read till you have understood completely who the Illuminati ACTUALLY are. Find out the truth from the source itself, not from hearsay and speculation by 'theorists'.

This book is an incredible book! If you want to know how to change the world, start by reading this material. As you cultivate a higher understanding of the world and where we are in history, inspiration will eventually come to you on how YOU can make a difference. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

best book on Protestantism in best series on Christianity

I read this years ago as an article series, and do not recall verbatim, but think it is the best (along with his others and those of the two associated writers) introductory modern series on rationalist idealism in Classical Greek & Cartesian & German Idealist philosophy & postmodernism, including Pythagoreanism/Illumination, Platonism, Hermetism, Gnosticism, Leibnizianism, Hegelianism, formal & natural & social science, religion, and the arts, in this case on mathematics, gnosticism, and the falseness/evil of popular religion, etc. One major focus of the book is Protestantism's nefarious founder, Martin Luther, who insulted reason/logic, the madman.
